Victor Lindelof has been named in WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Week after providing a crucial match-winning goal on Saturday.
The defender was called upon to replace Jonny Evans in the starting line-up after the 35-year-old was ruled out through injury, and so took his usual place alongside Harry Maguire at centre-back.
At the weekend, Manchester United were struggling to break down a well-drilled Luton Town side, who were fresh off the back of taking points from Liverpool with a 1-1 draw.
Lindelof’s heroics sealed vital win
It took until the 59th minute for the Reds to find a breakthrough at Old Trafford through an unlikely scorer in Lindelof, who fired home a scintillating, unstoppable strike to make it 1-0.

He also contributed in keeping a much-needed clean sheet, that’ll help boost the confidence of the backline and Andre Onana after a shaky start to the campaign.
The narrow win sealed back-to-back league victories for United heading into the international break.
