Erik ten Hag has reiterated his full belief and confidence in Marcus Rashford, as the forward continues to endure a lacklustre start to the campaign.
The England international is on the back of his most prolific season to date, having netted 30 goals in all competitions for the first time in his career. Now, 17 games into the term, he has just one goal to his name.
Rashford was also rewarded with a lucrative new contract over the summer that saw him extend his Old Trafford stay until 2028, so his future at the club is currently secure.
Still, fans expect more from the forward, especially given the fact that he starts week in, week out in attack and is rarely dropped by the manager unless it’s down to injury – like last week against Fulham.
Ten Hag backs Rashford to reignite prolific form
Ten Hag has already clarified previously that he continues starting Rashford in hopes of him having a high-quality game, which he could then use to build on.
Today, the Dutchman added (via ManUtd.com): “He [Rashford] will improve and he will score goals. He is totally in the team and he is totally aware of everything. He will be back on track soon.
“It can happen very quickly. Sometimes you only need one game. I am sure that he will get there.”
