Manchester United pair Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford have been named in the England squad for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers.

The Three Lions take on Malta at Wembley next Friday before travelling to face North Macedonia three days later.

Gareth Southgate’s side secured qualification for the finals last month, with a 3-1 win over Italy.

The big difference this time around is the English press and their fans don’t have anything to complain about in terms of Harry Maguire’s selection. They previously bickered about how Southgate keeps picking him, despite the fact he had fallen down the pecking order at United.

This time, Maguire has been selected after starting the last seven games for United and he’s likely to start again this weekend against Luton Town.

The one United player that keeps missing out now is Mason Mount, but he’s hardly getting a look in at United since joining from Chelsea in the summer.

England squad announced

Goalkeepers: Sam Johnstone, Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale

Defenders: Levi Colwill, Lewis Dunk, Marc Guehi, Harry Maguire, Fikayo Tomori, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker

Midfielders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jude Bellingham, Conor Gallagher, Jordan Henderson, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice

Forwards: Jarrod Bowen, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, James Maddison, Callum Wilson, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka, Ollie Watkins.
