Copenhagen manager plays down Old Trafford atmosphere and says Parken will be 100x better

Copenhagen manager Jacob Neestrup is anticipating a louder and more intimidating atmosphere for Manchester United tomorrow than there was at Old Trafford on October 24.

The Red Devils saw out a crucial 1-0 win over Copenhagen after two straight defeats in their opening Champions League group-stage games, though the tie could’ve easily been a draw if it wasn’t for Andre Onana’s late heroics; he saved a last-gasp penalty from Jordan Larsson to clinch all three points.

Now, United must oversee a victory again this time out if they want any chance of progressing to the knock-outs. They will, however, be away from their home comforts, which has led the Danes to feel considerably more confident about causing an upset for the travelling side.

Neestrup on stadium differences

Ahead of Wednesday’s game, Neestrup previewed the clash and reflected on the reverse meeting, claiming that the atmosphere in M16 was quite underwhelming in comparison to what the Parken Stadium can produce.

He said (via Simon Peach): “With all the respect, I felt when I stepped into Old Trafford the historical atmosphere, but you can’t compare Old Trafford with Parken. Because the intensity is times 100 in terms of what we played in two weeks ago. This is the standard and for me, [it’s] way above [the] Premier League, to be honest.”
