As things stand, results are going exactly the way Erik ten Hag would have hoped for going into this weekend, with his side comfortably watching Sunday’s action after a late win at Fulham on Saturday.
The win, which was secured by way of yet another winner from Bruno Fernandes, put United within touching distance of the Champions League places and now, one of the main contenders for those positions has dropped points.
Liverpool are not seated at Europe’s fine dining table this season but are looking for an immediate return. They made the trip to the capital on Sunday afternoon but were left red-faced after a former Manchester United player scored a late goal for Luton.

Tahith Chong, who left United on a permanent transfer last year, was a second-half substitute and it was the Dutchman who got the golden touch in the 80th minute, as seen above.
It looked like Luton were set to steal all three points but with roughly 96 minutes on the clock, the visitors scored to ensure the spoils were shared.
The draw between Luton and Liverpool means that just six points separate Jurgen Klopp’s men and United.
