Manchester United stole three huge points on the road earlier this weekend when Bruno Fernandes’ 91st-minute strike at Fulham turned out to be the winning touch.

Erik ten Hag is under massive pressure to turn United’s season around after a disastrous start to the campaign and the Dutchman now has some much-needed breathing space.

Fernandes, unsurprisingly, stole most of the headlines after scoring a Premier League winner for the third time this season but there were other impressive performers.

Marcus Rashford was ruled out of the game due to a knock sustained in training and that gave Alejandro Garnacho the chance to impress from the start.

On the opposite flank, Antony was taken off when United were chasing a goal and his replacement, Facundo Pellistri, certainly left his mark on the game.

Speaking after the game, goalkeeper Andre Onana singled the two youngsters out for special praise.

“They are great players; they bring a lot of energy, team spirit, they fight,” Onana said on Garnacho and Pellistri, according to UtdDistrict.

“Today was not to play football; you want to try to play from the back when possible.

“Today, it was just important for us to win because we always demand high standards. When you are playing for Manchester United, you always have to try to win.

“They came in and did a very good job. I am very happy for them, and now it is time to focus on the next game. It is going to be a fight there. We are Manchester United, and we are going to be ready for them.”

Both wingers have had to display real patience before getting their chance to shine and with United continuing to struggle in the final third, Ten Hag may very well start both in the next game at Copenhagen.

Pellistri, in particular, made the trip back to Old Trafford with high-value stocks after he played a significant role in the winning goal.
