Erik ten Hag gave an honest assessment of Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup.
It was another disappointing night at Old Trafford for the Reds as they crashed out of the Carabao Cup. Last season it was the competition that brought most joy to fans, but we won’t be defending the honour this year.
The pressure mounts on Ten Hag with every defeat and the only way he can turn things around is by winning football matches.
However, in order to win matches, the performances must improve.
United were appalling again tonight and more questions will be asked about Ten Hag’s future as a result.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the 3-0 defeat to Newcastle, Ten Hag took responsibility and admitted “this is not good enough” before calling on the players to stick together to overcome their struggles.
