Erik ten Hag has reacted to yet another dismal performance by Manchester United against Manchester City.

The Red Devils sustained a 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford and failed to even put up a fight against their closest rivals – something that City were able to take full advantage of with a dominant performance and clean sheet on the road.

United have only led at home in the Premier League for 29 minutes, and have now lost as many league games in the 10 years since Sir Alex Ferguson retired as they did during his tenure. Concerning, to say the least.

They now sit eighth-placed, having overseen five wins and five defeats, and are eight points off the top four.

Ten Hag reacts

In terms of the game, Ten Hag believes the penalty call was what changed matters; Rasmus Hojlund fouled Rodri in the area during a corner and after a VAR check, the referee pointed to the spot. It was swiftly converted by Erling Haaland.

“The penalty changed the game. I don’t have a comment on it. I don’t have a comment.” he said, via Shamoon HafezLast year, we were in the same situation after Man City [defeat]. We have to forget this game and recover for Wednesday.”

  1. Nah, the players are way too soft is the problem, and has been, and doesn’t look like changing.
Concede a soft penalty? Then get mad, fight, and get even.
Our lot just shrug: Ah good, there’s our excuse for losing, and thoughts turn to what to have for dinner. Oppositions turn up at O.T. wondering how many goals they’ll get, our mob can’t manage one.
Wish Keano had an active role at the Club, Manager, maybe.
