Fabrizio Romano has labelled Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United career ‘90 per cent over’, as the club plans for his January exit.

Sancho has stood firm in the belief that he has done nothing wrong while the situation, which began on September 3, has gone on. Now, certain reports suggest that Erik ten Hag is ready to sell him in the winter regardless of whether or not he apologises between now and the window opening.

The 23-year-old has failed to replicate the same prolific form he displayed at Borussia Dortmund since moving back to England. His outstanding contributions, 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 appearances, led to United spending £73 million to acquire his signature in 2021, though he has since produced just 12 goals and six assists in 82 outings as a Red.

Juventus are believed to be the front-runners to sign Sancho currently; they want to take him on loan until the end of the campaign, when they would then – ideally – make it permanent.

Romano weighed in on the matter in his Daily Briefing with CaughtOffside, saying: “There is still no price for Sancho, it will be important to see if it’s a permanent transfer or a loan – they will be open to any opportunity, though, of course, they’d probably favour a permanent transfer.

“Still, they know that in January it won’t be easy to find someone willing to pay something in the region of, and this is just my opinion, £50-55m, is not going to be easy.

“There is no change at the moment, no apology from Sancho, so it looks 90% over between him and the club.”
