Manchester United face a must-win Champions League clash tomorrow when they take on Copenhagen in their third group-stage game.
The Red Devils are currently winless in Europe and having overseen two consecutive defeats, they sit rock bottom of Group A on zero points.
Pressure is now heaped on Erik ten Hag and his players to see out nothing but victories in their remaining games and hopefully, qualify for the next stage of the competition.
Diogo Dalot provided a crucial goal on Saturday evening when he netted a sensational curling finish into the top corner to make it 2-1 against Sheffield United. Dropping points against the team currently 20th-placed in the Premier League would’ve only added to the Reds’ woes, and certainly dropped morale for the games ahead.
After the midweek European action, United then tackle the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
Dalot on momentum
Ahead of such a pivotal week of fixtures, Dalot spoke to the press about the importance of building momentum in the squad currently.
“I think every game for us is an opportunity to show we can build confidence and momentum,” the defender said, as quoted by Manchester Evening News. “When you win, it’s easier to get that confidence and when you won’t play how you want to, you have to find a way to win.
“We’ve shown that quality and we need to use these wins for momentum.”
Sorry to say, 6 points is the max I see us getting from this campaign. Team’s faint hearts will let us down in Turkiye, and: win at home to Bayern Munich? I think not!
Not overly confident about those 6 points, tbh, the reports I saw said the Danes were unlucky to get nowt from their previous 2 matches – what’s the betting their luck changes against us?
Oh dear.
