Erik ten Hag kept in dark over Sir Jim Ratcliffe buy-in discussions

Much like Manchester United fans, Erik ten Hag has been left out of the loop when it comes to the future of the football club.

In November it was announced that the Glazer family were conducting a strategic review on the club and that created a takeover race between Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

With Qatar now out of the race to buy Manchester United, Ratcliffe is believed to be aiming to secure a minority stake at his ‘boyhood’ club.

This has created uncertainty for the futures of chiefs Richard Arnold and John Murtough, but it remains to be seen if they have any chance of remaining at the club if Ratcliffe gets his way and pushes for a shake up in the football department.

Ten Hag has been left out of the loop for the past 11 months and that is just the way the Glazers do things.

When asked if he had been involved in any of the talks surrounding Ratcliffe’s proposed bid, Ten Hag told reporters at his press conference this afternoon (via Manchester Evening News): “No. So I’m not involved in this. Others in the club are dealing with this. I’m focusing on my team, focusing on the current block [of games] and the most important priority is the next game, it’s all about that.”

Ten Hag was also asked about the future of Jadon Sancho for the 1000th time. His response tells us that he’s getting fed up of the situation and being asked about it every week.

“Everything has been said about him,” the manager said.
