West Ham sound out former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea

West Ham have reportedly sounded out former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.

The Spaniard has been a free agent since his contract at United expired during the summer.

It will come as a shock to De Gea, who was once seen as the best goalkeeper in world football, that he hasn’t been able to secure a move yet.

According to Football Transfers, West Ham seem ready to give De Gea a chance to return to the Premier League.

The same report states De Gea’s preference is to return to Spain.

Former United captain Roy Keane recently joked about De Gea being brought back to Old Trafford after Andre Onana’s rocky start.

The ex-Inter Milan goalkeeper needs time to settle – just like the Spaniard did when he arrived many moons ago from Atletico Madrid.

There were reports that De Gea could end up in Saudi Arabia, but it sounds like he believes that he still has something to offer in one of Europe’s top leagues.

De Gea was in Manchester this week to support the women’s team in the Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain, which ended as a draw.
