David de Gea was back in Manchester this week, three months on from his Manchester United exit in the summer.
The goalkeeper’s 12-year stay between the sticks at Old Trafford came to an end in July after his contract expired and the club opted against a renewal, as they instead turned to £47.2 million man Andre Onana to fill the No.1 void.
De Gea, 32, left United as a legend and respected servant of the side, though most fans will likely agree that it was time for him to move on.
He returned to the city this week and took to Leigh Sports Village on Tuesday evening to show his support for the women’s team in their first-ever Champions League game, showing that the ‘once a Red, always a Red’ tagline rings true with him.
De Gea links up with Reguilon
Today, De Gea shared a snap on his Instagram story alongside United loanee Sergio Reguilon, whom he played alongside at international level for Spain.
The fullback previously told of how De Gea played a key role in his decision to move to the Red Devils from Tottenham Hotspur, as he had spoken highly of the club and supporters.
