Thomas Frank has concerns about facing new Manchester United signing

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has admitted he is working on a plan to contain Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund.

As a Danish coach in the Premier League, Frank told the official Brentford website he is happy to see the development of Hojlund, praising his performance in the Champions League against Galatasaray.

United fell to s 3-2 defeat against the Turkish champions, but Hojlund proved to be the only silver lining.

Brentford will be trying to keep Hojlund quiet on Saturday when they travel to Old Trafford, while Erik ten Hag needs his side to get back to winning ways after losing six games from our opening 10. Meanwhile, the visitors have only one win in the league this term.

Frank singled out Hojlund when previewing Saturday’s match, saying: “He’s scoring goals. I know he’s not playing for Brentford, but I’m Danish and I’m happy that a Danish player is coming through and doing well.

“I must say, it was an impressive performance for him against Galatasaray, two very good goals. He looks like he’s in a very good place.

“But hopefully we can keep him quiet on Saturday! That’s the aim.”

In turn, Frank suggests Brentford will be sitting deep against the Reds, who struggled to break down Crystal Palace last weekend.

The Brentford manager added: “We need to be aware of not giving him too much space to run into; he’s quick and he’s good with the timing of his runs.

“We need to see the situations early and try to stop the balls into him – that’s definitely a key area for us.”

Hojlund has three Champions League goals to his name for United, but the 20-year-old has yet to score his first goal in the Premier League. Hopefully the first will come on Saturday against Brentford.
