Manchester United vs Brentford: Team news as both sides face injury concerns

Manchester United host Brentford this Saturday in their return to Premier League action at 3pm. 

The Red Devils sustained a deflating 3-2 defeat on Tuesday evening in their second Champions League group-stage game, leaving them rock bottom of Group A on zero points.

Now, their focus switches back to domestic action, where they’re also looking to bounce back from last Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace. A positive run of form in the upcoming fixtures is crucial in building the side’s morale.

In regards to Erik ten Hag’s options, he is waiting on the recovery of Sergio Reguilon, who has missed the past three matches. Sofyan Amrabat was consequently deployed out of position at left-back, as there were no other options available.

Kobbie Mainoo has been training but Ten Hag is reluctant to rush his comeback to the squad, so it may be pushed back until after the international break.

Antony returned to the fold against Galatasaray and made a late cameo to see out the defeat. He is still being investigated by authorities for allegations of domestic abuse.

Jadon Sancho remains exiled from the first-team, while Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez are all long-term absentees.
