Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho wants to sign Jadon Sancho for AS Roma, according to reports.

After starting the first three games of the new season, Sancho has been out of the squad since the away defeat to Arsenal at the beginning of September.

Erik ten Hag revealed at the time that Sancho was not meeting the required standards in training, but those comments sparked an immediate response from the player himself and there’s been an ongoing feud ever since with the England international told to train on his own for the foreseeable future.

It is believed Sancho’s attitude around Carrington has not improved and now his future at the club looks uncertain.

A new report from Italian outlet Il Romanista claims the 23-year-old has no intention of mending his relationship with Ten Hag. They add that he is ready to leave Old Trafford in January, with Mourinho desperate for his signature.

It comes as no surprise that the report goes on to claim Sancho’s wages could prove to be a stumbling block for Roma.

Sancho doesn’t appear to be backing down from his stance against Ten Hag, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see the winger leave midway through the season. The club will be happy to get him off the wage books no doubt.

  1. Both parties have been stupid. ETH for public ally criticising a player and Sancho for responding like a petulant child. Can’t see this getting sorted.
