Roy Hodgson concerned about injuries ahead of Carabao Cup tie with Manchester United

Manchester United face Crystal Palace twice next week.

All of our focus has been on Manchester United and our own players, and you’d easily forget that other teams are suffering with injuries problems too.

United still have a number of players out – key stars, too – but Erik ten Hag’s side must turn things around soon. The only way they can do that is by winning football matches.

With two games in a row against Roy Hodgson’s Palace, it gives United a chance to rotate the squad. We are in the Champions League now and it will be important to give some players a rest.

However, Hodgson has admitted he has concerns about his squad before they travel to Old Trafford for back-to-back games.

Speaking to Gary Taphouse following Palace’s 0-0 draw with Fulham, Hodgson said: “I can’t attack the Carabao Cup as I intended to do because I don’t have any players.

“I’m worried about Edouard’s hamstring. At the moment when I find out a player is out for three weeks, I’m relieved it’s not three months.”

United can’t afford anymore injuries and we’re interested to see if Ten Hag makes changes or sticks with the same side that beat Burnley.

It is worth remembering the manager rarely rotated last season.
