NFL legend JJ Watt hails Bruno Fernandes after stunning volley

NFL legend J.J. Watt showed his appreciation for Bruno Fernandes’ winner against Burnley on Saturday night.

Erik ten Hag’s side had to bounce back from a slow start to the season to secure three points at Turf Moor.

The Reds were unconvincing for most of the first half, but after a world class volley from Fernandes on the brink of half-time, we controlled the remainder of the match and deserved the win.

Former NFL star Watt was watching the game, having become a minority investor in Burnley following their promotion back to the Premier League, and he couldn’t help but comment on Fernandes’ brilliance.

Watt took to Twitter to write: “Scoreline doesn’t reflect the run of play in the first half, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. Hate to say, but it was a class finish from Bruno.”

It sure was and we hope Fernandes can pop up with the goods again next week, with our back-to-back games against Crystal Palace.

Burnley have started the season slowly and currently sit at the bottom of the Premier League. Vincent Kompany has his work cut out for him.
