Number of Manchester United players unhappy about David de Gea exit

Reports of player unrest comes as no surprise because Manchester United have endured a poor start to the season.

We’ve seen it with previous managers that after a bad spell or two they’re quick to point the finger of blame.

Now, a report from The Sun claims a number of United players are very unhappy over the way David de Gea was let go by Erik ten Hag during the summer.

The goalkeeper was a popular member within the squad but was not offered a contract extension at the end of the season. The newspaper report states that several players were left disappointed by this and we suspect that more stories of this nature will follow unless results pick up on the pitch.

Interestingly, De Gea is yet to find a new club following his release this summer, and it was naive of the players to think Ten Hag was giving him a new deal in the first place.

Ten Hag wanted to sign a modern keeper like Andre Onana, who is suddenly facing the pressure of being No.1 at Old Trafford.

The Cameroonian isn’t the first to struggle at first either and he – like the manager – deserves our patience.
