Manchester United have an ever-growing injury list at Old Trafford and it’s evident that the layoffs have impacted the side’s results.
Whilst the Red Devils boast an incredibly strong backup squad – with added depth after this summer’s window – Erik ten Hag is yet to deploy what would be his first-choice and strongest starting XI this term.
Since the season began, Raphael Varane, Mason Mount, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have all sustained injuries, while Sofyan Amrabat and Rasmus Hojlund arrived at the club with previous fitness issues that kept them out of action.
Jadon Sancho is unavailable for selection pending the resolution of a disciplinary issue, and Antony is overseeing a period of absence to deal with assault and abuse allegations from three women.
The latest on United’s injury front
United are now looking to welcome Mount and Varane back to the fold as early as this weekend when the side travel to Turf Moor to face newly-promoted Burnley, however, Shaw and Wan-Bissaka face an extended spell on the sidelines; as per ESPN, the defensive duo could be out until after the mid-November international break – another two months at least.
