Thomas Tuchel picks three Manchester United players that could cause problems for Bayern’s defence

Thomas Tuchel is well aware that Manchester United have had a lacklustre start to the campaign, but still expects a tough tie when they go head-to-head with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday evening.

The Red Devils have overseen two wins and three losses in their opening five games of the season – a poor start by any team’s standards, so even more so for United.

Injuries have undoubtedly played a role in the results thus far and Erik ten Hag will be hoping that form picks up when his players gradually return to the fold.

For example, Rasmus Hojlund only made his debut against Arsenal and has already looked promising in his two cameos. When he settles in the frontline, he could soon start racking up some goal contributions with United’s creativity in the midfield feeding him chances.

Tuchel wary of United’s frontline

Tuchel has predicted that Hojlund could cause his side problems in the Champions League clashes, as well as two other Reds.

He said today in his pre-match press conference (via Bayern’s YouTube channel): “Their results so far don’t say much about them. They can count on their excellent transitional play, with Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and now also Rasmus Hojlund up front. We can’t switch off at all.”
