Manchester United are undergoing their final preparations ahead of kick-off at the Allianz Arena.
The Red Devils kickstart their Champions League campaign this evening with a blockbuster clash vs. Bayern Munich away from home.
Erik ten Hag has awarded Facundo Pellistri just his second-ever start, which also marks the youngster’s debut in the competition.
When quizzed on his tactical changes pre-match, the manager explained why he had deployed Pellistri from the get-go, and it seems as though a large part of his decision came down to Bayern’s fullback Alphonso Davies.
The Dutchman told TNT Sports: Pelli [Pellistri] is doing very well over a long period. He came from South America to [fight to] start against Brighton… tough journey.
“Today, I think tactically it fits very good because they have Davies – he’s very offensive, a lot of speed. Pelli can match that. He can match that defending but also in the offensive, he has the capabilities to also go into attack. Davies is not a great defender… in his dribbling.”
"This is the place we belong."
"We deserve it but we have to prove we deserve it."@laura_woodsy, @rioferdy5 and Paul Scholes quiz Erik ten Hag on the negativity surrounding Man Utd and how he approaches a big night for the club 👊
