The restaurant was initially opened in 2009.
Rosso, the Italian restaurant co-owned by former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, has closed its doors for good as of Sunday (17 September).
According to the Manchester Evening News, an employee arrived for work this morning and was told the restaurant was now permanently closed.
It is reported that the restaurant will not be continuing its lease on a King Street property.
The restaurant is based in Manchester city centre, 42 Spring Gardens, and is was often frequented by former United players.
It was not expected that the restaurant would be shutting its doors.
Ferdinand opened the restaurant with the help of investors, such as Nurez Kamani and Suleman Kamani, but now it looks like he is focusing his attention on YouTube and his broadcasting career.
It’s sad news for the people who are now out of employment as a result.
