Rio Ferdinand blames Glazer family for lack of direction at Manchester United

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has slammed the Glazer family as the owners of the club continue to drag their heels over the ongoing sale.

There is unrest off the pitch as well as on it for Manchester United in what has been an unhappy start to the 2023/24 campaign.

The cockroaches are coming out of all corners to attack Erik ten Hag, but United fans stayed until the end at the weekend to clap off the pitch. Just after watching the team fall to a 3-1 defeat at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Former United right-back Gary Neville was quick to point the finger at the Glazers are the game, but it’s good to see teammates of his in agreement.

Speaking on his YouTube channel Five, Ferdinand stressed the lack of communication from the Glazers on the direction of the club is damaging everyone associated with Manchester United.

He said: “Their lack of communication has been deafening, its been disgraceful in my eyes. You’ve got staff, players, manager, to work at their best you need the comms to be right, they need to understand it.

“This is a fragile changing room, fragile structure, and there’s new people coming in and out, signings, culture trying to be reset. This ownership aren’t communicating to help that. We need communication now more than ever and we aren’t getting it.

“I’m being led to believe it’s a business, cold-hearted that’s it. If you did love the club you’d want to help the manager. The silence speaks volumes.”

Former Premier League striker Alan Shearer surprised us on Saturday night when he joined a list to pundits to weigh in on the Glazer family.

It’s refreshing to hear pundits do their job rather than dance around the real problems that exist at Old Trafford.
