Manchester United are preparing for their biggest test this season as Erik ten Hag eyes a good start to the Champions League campaign following another disappointing start in the league.
United have picked up just six points from their opening five games but are now looking forward to their first game back in the Champions League after one season out of the tournament.
Ten Hag has a number of injury worries going into the game, with Raphael Varane, Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat among those to be expected to miss the game.
Additionally, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia continue to be sidelined with long-term injuries and Jadon Sancho and Antony are unavailable due to off-pitch matters.
That leaves Ten Hag with a limited number of options and despite the loss against Brighton earlier this weekend, there is a possibility that the Dutchman makes little to no changes.
Andre Onana is guaranteed to start in goal but the first change could come in defence, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka potentially coming in for Diogo Dalot.
Wan-Bissaka was not deemed to be fit enough to start against Brighton but still made the bench and Sergio Reguilon’s promising debut should be enough to earn him a start in Munich.
Varane’s injury means that Lisandro Martinez is likely to partner Victor Lindelof through the middle, with Casemiro and Scott McTominay ahead of them.
Bruno Fernandes could continue to play on one of the wings, with Christian Eriksen, Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund making up the rest of the four-man attack.
Predicted Manchester United line-up (4-2-3-1): Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Martinez, Reguilon; Casemiro, McTominay; Fernandes, Eriksen, Rashford; Hojlund
