Hannibal Mejbri reacts to first goal for Manchester United after disappointing result

Manchester United were put to the sword by Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, with just Hannibal Mejbri providing a positive moment.

The 20-year-old scored his first goal in a Manchester United shirt when he managed to pull one back for the Reds during a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford.

In the 73rd minute, Mejbri received a pass from Lisandro Martinez and proceeded to send the ball into the back of the net from distance.

Following the goal, former England international and MOTD presenter Gary Lineker reacted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Hannibal lectures his more experienced teammates on how to score for Man United,” Lineker wrote.

The Tunisia international took to social media after the match, noting that the result was poor but he still enjoyed the goal.

He wrote via Instagram: “Years of work went into that moment to score a goal for this incredible club. Impossible to enjoy it without the team getting the result we wanted.”
