Premier League confirms officials for Manchester United vs Brighton

Manchester United are back in action this weekend for a Premier League meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion following a short international break.

We have yet to report on any confirmed injuries from the international break – touching wood on Sofyan Amrabat – but Erik ten Hag is not scheduled to address the media until Friday.

However, what we do know is will be referee for the game versus Brighton, which promises to be a tough battle given how they’ve started the new season.

Jarred Gillett has been given the role as referee as confirmed by the Premier League, and he will be assisted by Neil Davies and Darren Cann.

Meanwhile, Chris Kavanagh is in charge of VAR and Simon Hooper will be the fourth officials.

Following links this morning, there will be a watchful eye over whether the impressive Republic of Ireland striker Evan Ferguson passes fit after missing two Euro 2024 qualifiers over the break.

United fans will hope these officials don’t have a nightmare like some of the others we’ve encountered this season. I feel there has been controversy one way or other after each game.

The media only press hard on it when United benefit from a decision, though. The likes of talkSPORT make a goldmine from engagements on such content.
