Manchester United confirm new front of shirt sponsor for 2024/25 season

Manchester United confirmed on Tuesday night that it had expanded its strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, as per Businesswire.

It was reported earlier this week by Adam Crafton of The Athletic that Manchester United were in advanced talks with US technology firm Qualcomm over becoming the club’s new shirt sponsor, therefore, replacing Germany company TeamViewer.

This means under the expanded collaboration, the Snapdragon brand will be displayed on United’s shirt from the start of the 2024/25 season. However, TeamViewer will remain on the club shirt throughout this season.

Qualcomm has already been listed as a global partner of United promoting its Snapdragon brand, which is responsible for providing products from the world’s biggest brands across smartphones, PCs, extended reality glasses, gaming devices, wearables, and connected cars.

It is believed United are targeting a deal that would see them earn £60 million (£75.1m) per year.

Now it makes more sense that Roy Keane was posing with a former New York Jets player at the Snapdragon-branded NFL stadium on Monday night, doing more promotion for the club after helping launch one of this season’s new kits.

This will likely lead to United fans fearing the news means that the Glazers are staying – since they are investing time into multi-year deals rather than committing to the sale of the club.

That has long been a fear for fans. The process does not need to take this long, but everyone has signed NDAs and it’s next to impossible ti find out what is really going on.

The Glazers had looked to sell United after welcoming a round of bids from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Al Thani.
