Rasmus Hojlund’s late cameo against Arsenal marked his maiden outing for Manchester United.

The 20-year-old has been waiting since the beginning of the campaign to make his debut as a back injury meant that it was delayed. Thankfully, he is now up to full fitness.

United sustained a deflating 3-1 defeat to the Gunners in North London last night, with the winning goals coming in injury time and just minutes after Alejandro Garnacho thought he’d won it with a cool finish – before VAR intervened.

Hojlund was granted a 23-minute cameo to showcase his talents to the travelling Reds, as well as those watching from home, and was still able to make an impact with such little time on the pitch. His dominance, strength and creativity sparked United fans with hope for when he’s able to start games from the get-go.

He’ll be getting minutes in his legs over the next fortnight too, as he’s been called up by Kasper Hjumland to represent Denmark in their upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers, but before then, he took to Instagram to react to his first-ever United outing.

“So proud to make my debut for @manchesterunited,” Hojlund began. “The dream became a reality. Unlucky with the result today… but we will bounce back after the international break.”
