Erik ten Hag wasn’t happy as his Manchester United players fell to a 3-1 defeat against Arsenal on Sunday. In a post-match interview, the manager questioned several refereeing decisions that went against the Reds on the day.

There was shout for a penalty in the second half after new signing Rasmus Hojlund came off the bench to make his debut.

The 20-year-old took on Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes, who took down the striker inside the box without making contact with the ball.

Hojlund was pulled to the ground but the foul itself was ignored by VAR.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Ten Hag said: “The performance is right, we played a good game but everything went against us. And then you don’t win the game.

“You saw the game, it’s not offside, that is the wrong angle, then a penalty on Hojlund, we concede a goal and that is a foul on Jonny Evans.”

It’s hard to disagree with Ten Hag. The offside, denied penalty on Jonny Evans were all ignored by the referee.

United still won’t get an apology unlike Wolves.

  1. This is clearly the fault of United’s officials. Everyone knows we’ve been bribing refs for years and they’re “ in our back pocket.” Obviously, yesterday someone forgot the brown envelopes. Must be that, mustn’t it? Those who say referees favour us can’t all be wrong, surely?

    1. Have you been the one taking the brown envelops to the refs ( messenger) right?! & I do believe u do not support Man utd bro.

  2. It seems some people have sat down and planned and fixed where they want to Man Utd to finish

  3. that probably is a penalty, i think the offside was marginal and a fair call – although the rule should be changed so there is a clear advantage, otherwise the attacker should always get the advantage.

i don’t think evans was fouled, it would have been very harsh. also rice was free at the back post – schoolboy defending and maybe ETH could focus on the errors rather than blaming the refs.

also united didn’t deserve to win that game as ETH said. draw fair but arsenal edged it.

1 point from 33 now on the road for ETh against top 10 teams – unacceptable.

  4. Dont understand where we are heading..we have quality players but on the field,,no quantity of goal..i think both Antony’s deserve arest..still Man u 4eva..

  5. So true David. Ferguson used to offer refs “holiday packages” in the past.

Either their officials forgot the envelopes or soccer is being cleaned up. Hope its the latter.

  6. Man Utd played as if they don’t train. How can Arsenal controls the ball from the beginning of the match to the ending and you coach blame the officials. Please admit the truth, if you play well, the referees will be at your side. How can you even think of winning, when arsenal played 12+ corners and recorded the most attempt

  7. The offside was debatable but the fouls on Evans and Hojlund where blatant. Var isn’t being used right especially when you see the goal City scored on Sat being allowed when Akanji was offside, in the view line of the keeper and moved towards the ball. Something needs to change and fast
