Lisandro Martinez is going on international duty.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag revealed after Sunday’s 3-1 defeat against Arsenal that he was not unaware of the extent of the injury that led to Martínez coming off after 67 minutes.
The Argentina international started the game against the Gunners, but fans feared the worst when he went down injured before being replaced by Harry Maguire. Martinez stayed on the deck following a tackle on Eddie Nketiah that earned him a yellow card.
United can’t afford more injuries in defence, with Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane already ruled out, but it doesn’t sound like Martinez suffered anything more than a knock.
Martinez is one of two Manchester United players to be called up for the Argentina. He will be joined by young forward Alejandro Garnacho.

According to journalist Gaston Edul, Martinez is not injured despite being forced off with a knock against Arsenal.
Edul claims there is no knock-on effects from the tackle and that Martinez is fit to feature for Argentina in this international break.
Lisandro Martínez tendría solamente dolor porque recibió un golpe. No tiene lesión.

The last thing we need now is players coming back from the internationals with injuries. Erik ten Hag should wrap the likes of Rasmus Hojlund and Bruno Fernandes in cotton wool before they jet off to link up with their national teams.
