Manchester United’s Antony accused of domestic violence as details of vicious attacks emerge from ex-partner

Antony is currently being investigated over claims of domestic violence and other abhorrent acts from ex-partner Gabriela Cavallin, as per Brazilian outlet UOL.

The DJ and influencer has filed police reports in both Brazil and England, with the former being their native.

Cavallin initially spoke out in June of this year, when she stated that Antony banned her from leaving their home.

Now, she has released more information as the investigation continues, alleging that the player first attacked her in June 2022 whilst she was pregnant. Antony reportedly put her in a car, attacked her repeatedly and threatened to throw her out of the vehicle.

The couple stayed together, despite his fluctuating and aggressive behaviour, until Cavallin tried to call it quits once and for all during last year’s World Cup in Qatar – but couldn’t.

She adds that on January 15, one of Antony’s outbursts led to her having a cut on her head and a dislocated breast implant.

“I don’t remember exactly who the fight was about, but it was someone I had been with years ago,” Cavallin said. “He punched me in the chest and my silicone [implant] turned over. Then I came to Brazil for surgery to change the prosthesis. He said: ‘I didn’t mean to hurt you, it was accidental, it wasn’t a punch, I just pushed you, I just held you against the wall.’”

The final documented incident came on May 8; the 23-year-old attempted to hit Cavallin with a glass and amid her self-defence, her finger was cut open. She subsequently returned to Brazil.

“On that last day [May 8], it was very serious,” she told UOL. Antony locked the door of the house and wouldn’t let me go out, and I had my finger open, all hurt. He broke my things and took my passport. His mother and stepfather even trapped him inside the football court, he had a football court inside his living room, surrounded by a fence. He was upset, trying to get out of the court in any way, throwing a football at me, throwing a cell phone at me. He said he was going to kill me, that he was going to kill himself.”

Images showcasing the aftermath of the alleged incidents, as well as exchanged messages on WhatsApp, have since been released and shared on social media.

Where United stand

Manchester United are yet to openly address the accusations against their forward and he has been playing freely since details first emerged.

Given the severity and the nature of the allegations, you’d hope that the club would inspect the evidence that’s been made public and suspend him until the case is concluded, though given their notorious handling of Mason Greenwood and the leaked plans to reintegrate him, our expectations are low.
