There is usually something quite spectacular about Manchester United U18s and this season is no different. On Saturday the lads took-on Reading at Carrington.
The manager went with this XI: Myles (GK), McAllister (C), Amass, Kingdon, Munro, Curley, Bauman, Lacey, Wheatley, Biancheri & Missin. Meanwhile in the bench: Devaney, Byrne-Hughes, Fletcher, Sharpe & Musa.
The game started with United on the front foot, attacking from the left hand side with Ashton Missin active from the beginning. Not only was he causing danger himself, but he also managed to set Ethan Wheatley various times to score. Wheatley himself was a bit unlucky when in front of goal.
Some of the goalscoring chances were blocked as the Reading goalkeeper pulled off some excellent saves. And, it did not take long for United to find the lead through Wheatley whose shot first met the post.
Wheatley, Missin and Shea Lacey were the best players of the first half.
Reading were trying to make the most of their chances but Biancheri had different plans. What a half it was from the young Welsh.
It was Missin again, who this time from the right hand side delivers a nice cross to Biancheri and slots it past the keeper. It did not take long for Missin to get a shot but it was saved, however Biancheri was there to score the rebound. Hat trick time for Biancheri who moved past two players and rolled the ball at the back of the net.
Reading managed to get one goal back but it was too late. United U18s start the PL Cup campaign with a brilliant performance. Other 4 goals scored, 3 games consecutively now.
