Manchester United are seriously considering a move for Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon ahead of Friday’s 11pm deadline.
According to The Athletic, United are now considering Reguilon to address their problems at left-back, despite submitting a proposal to sign Chelsea flop Marc Cucurella on Wednesday.
It is understood that Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to start Cucurella in the Carabao Cup win against AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday night may jeopardise the Spaniard’s move.
As a result, United are actively exploring a move for Reguilon.
The report states that a deal for Cucurella remains in play, but there is a strong suggestion that Reguilon is being seriously considered by United’s recruitment team.
United need to do something at left-back because it still looks like Alvaro Fernandez will be leaving on loan. Furthermore, we don’t know when Luke Shaw or Tyrell Malacia are due to return.
Erik ten Hag opted to start Diogo Dalot at left-back in last week’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.
