Dean Henderson completes £20m move to Crystal Palace

Dean Henderson has completed his transfer from Manchester United to Crystal Palace.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper attracted interest from Nottingham Forest earlier this summer, but that move when fell through before Steve Cooper’s side opted to sign Matt Turner from Arsenal.

That would have came as a blow to Henderson, who wants to be playing football rather than second-fiddle to Andre Onana, but then Crystal Palace came knocking on the door.

While there has been no announcement confirming the deal, the Manchester Evening News claims Henderson has joined Palace for £20 million plus add-ons.

On top of that, United are expected to confirm the €5m arrival of goalkeeper Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce.

After coming through the academy at United, Henderson played 29 times for the first-team, with 26 of the appearances coming in the 2020-21 season when he was briefly our first-choice keeper.

The Reds have until Friday to get the rest of their summer business done. Fans will be hoping to see a new left-back and midfielder brought in.
