Manchester United have submitted a loan offer to Chelsea for Marc Cucurella, as per The Athletic.
The Red Devils had drawn up a shortlist of potential left-back stop-gap signings following the confirmation of Luke Shaw’s injury, which could see him ruled out for as long as two months. Options included Cucurella, Sergio Reguilon, Marcos Alonso and Nicolas Tagliafico.
Next-in-line Tyrell Malacia is also unavailable due to a knee problem and he is yet to feature for the club this season, with a return date currently unknown.
Erik ten Hag opted to play Diogo Dalot out of position on the left flank against Nottingham Forest on Saturday rather than calling upon 20-year-old left-back Alvaro Fernandez, who is yet to make a senior appearance with United.

United make loan approach for Cucurella
Now, it appears as though the manager and the board have settled on Cucurella. The 25-year-old has been an unused substitute in Chelsea’s opening three games as Mauricio Pochettino prefers Ben Chilwell, so the London outfit are open to sanctioning his exit. Currently, it is believed that this will be on a temporary basis with a season-long loan.
Man utd should not only be focusing on defenderce a long but mildfield too.
