Manchester United have agreed on personal terms with Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella ahead of a potential loan move.
It is understood that United drew up a shortlist of potential left-back options for the foreseeable future, with both Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot ruled out with injuries.
The options included not just Cucurella but Sergio Reguilon, Marcos Alonso, Nicolas Tagliafico and Ryan Bertrand.
According to Fabrizio Romano, United won’t negotiate for any other left back after agreeing personal terms with Cucurella.

The Reds have until Friday’s deadline to get a deal over the line.
This is unlikely to be a popular signing – even if it’s only a loan deal because Cucurella has been a flop since his move to Chelsea, although he was excellent during his time at Brighton.
I’m not convinced by Cucurella but it is also clear that Erik ten Hag’s hands are tied by the fact the Glazers remain at the club and he doesn’t have a lot of money left to spend on more players.
This also spells bad news for young left-back Alvaro Fernandez. The Spaniard is still waiting for his debut and has been linked with a loan move for La Liga side Granada.

Once again Utd’s youth policy isn’t working. You have the perfect opportunity to interfere the young lad in the side but go and loan someone else in. Might as well scrap the youth academy if you don’t use it.
