Chelsea reportedly want a loan fee of £7 million to permit Marc Cucurella move to Manchester United.

The Reds agreed personal terms with Cucurella ahead of a loan switch, however, they must reach an agreement with Chelsea before a deal can materialise.

United were forced to look at left-backs after Luke Shaw’s injury, which could keep the 28-year-old out for three months. Tyrell Malacia is the only other left-back in the squad and he’ll be spending time with Shaw in the treatment room for the foreseeable future.

That is why United targeted Cucurella for a loan move know that he is out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea are open to a loan but they would want a payment of £7 million to let Cucurella go for the season.

Negotiations are ongoing between the lines, but £7m is a lot of money to pay for a season-long loan.

Cucurella has yet to get any minutes under Mauricio Pochettino this season, so the opportunity to play a key role at United was never something he was going to turn down.

  1. so who was that sitting on the subs bench Alvaro Fernandez or scotch mist have the decency to acknowledge that he was part of the match day squad and a left back and are we really going to get fleeced again by Chelsea whoever is negotiating the transfer wants sacking

  2. Obviously United aren’t heeding the maxim once bitten ( Mason Mount) twice shy we’d rather be mauled to death by going back into the lions den and getting shafted again
