Manchester United consider €25m transfer package for Santos striker

Reports suggest Manchester United could be preparing to make a move for Santos stroker Marcos Leonardo.

According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport (cited by The Sun), Erik ten Hag is eyeing a move for the highly rated Leonardo after a switch to AS Roma fell through.

The 20-year-old managed to score 16 and assist four last term, so there is no denying that the young forward has potential.

While we understand a move for a striker will depend on whether United can sell players. The report in question, for example, suggests United are ready to offer €20m plus €5m in bonuses.

United remain short in the striker department, despite spending a lot of money to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta this summer. It’s been a huge blow to Ten Hag that his striker arrived with an injury and has yet to make his debut.

It remains to be seen if Roma can get a deal across the line for Leonardo, but I do want United to explore the South American market.
