Manchester United have confirmed this evening that Mason Mount will face a spell on the sidelines.
The midfielder featured for the Red Devils in their first two games of the campaign and was named in the starting line-up for both, with the opening fixture marking Mount’s competitive debut for the club since signing in July.
However, he’ll have to wait a while before taking to the pitch again; he sustained an injury against Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday and is expected to be unavailable until after September’s international break.

The fixtures Mount is likely to miss
This means Mount will miss this weekend’s home clash with Nottingham Forest, as well as a highly-anticipated away trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday, September 3. He is likely to return for an Old Trafford outing on September 16 against Brighton and Hove Albion, providing his recovery goes to plan.
Christian Eriksen is expected to come into the fold as his direct replacement.
