Manchester United ask to be kept informed on Bayern Munich midfielder’s situation

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.

The Netherlands midfielder was briefly linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer but, by the time Erik ten Hag was confirmed our new manager, Bayern Munich had already made advances to sign Gravenberch from Ajax.

While Gravenberch made 33 appearances last term in Bavaria, he has yet to feature this season so it is likely he will have limited game time under Thomas Tuchel. That could expedite matters if the former Ajax star pushes for a transfer.

According to De Telegraaf, Gravenberch is keeping all Premier League options open amid links with possible moves to United or Liverpool.

The report also states if a permanent deal can’t be agreed upon for 21-year-old, then a loan package could be approved.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano says Gravenberch’s situation is the same as three days ago… He adds that there’s interest from United and Liverpool after both clubs asked to be kept informed of his ongoing situation at Bayern Munich.

However, Bayern Munich hold the cards because Gravenberch is under contract. It sounds like they are still insisting to keep him.

There is nothing nothing guaranteed as of yet, but it makes sense for United to consider a swoop for Gravenberch. The Manchester Evening News believes that to be the case, too.

Erik ten Hag could persuade Gravenberch to move to Old Trafford by promising him regular game time ahead of the European Championships. After all, it has been clear in our first two games that we need a more combative midfielder alongside Casemiro – but also to provide cover for the Brazilian.

I think Gravenberch would be an excellent signing for United, although it doesn’t solve our problems up front.
