Manchester United embark on their first away trip of the campaign this weekend when taking on Tottenham Hotspur.

The Red Devils will face Spurs in Saturday’s 5.30pm slot and Erik ten Hag will be hoping to see a considerable improvement on Monday’s performance.

United oversaw a narrow 1-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford in their season opener but were undoubtedly the second-best team on the night against the relentless Midlands outfit.

Now, it’s a fellow top-six rival that the Reds must overturn.

How Spurs fared in their return

Ange Postecoglou has the North London faithful feeling optimistic and buoyant about his tenure, which is commendable given he’s been able to keep spirits so high amid Harry Kane’s exit.

The club’s all-time top goalscorer left for Bayern Munich last week in hopes of lifting silverware for the first time in his career. Spurs are yet to acquire a direct replacement but have bumped Richarlison into a starting role.

Their first match was a 2-2 draw away to Brentford and the goals were provided by Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal. Spurs dominated possession, shots and passing but ultimately left with the same as the tenacious Bees – a point apiece.
