Aaron Wan-Bissaka has reflected on a positive season under Erik ten Hag.
The defender was seemingly out of the manager’s plans when Ten Hag arrived at Old Trafford last summer, with Wan-Bissaka making just one four-minute cameo from the beginning of the season until after Christmas.
An injury to first-choice Diogo Dalot at the 2022 World Cup meant that Ten Hag was left with no option but to give Wan-Bissaka a run of games in the starting 11, and he quickly proved why he deserved the starting role.
His one-on-one tackling is second to none in the Premier League and he has made vast improvements in his attacking game too. In fact, his assist helped Manchester United pick up their first win of the season on Monday when he set up Raphael Varane’s second-half header.
Wan-Bissaka, 25, is also a crucial factor in why the side have kept so many clean sheets.
Wan-Bissaka reflects
After becoming a mainstay on the pitch and receiving plaudits from fans and pundits alike, the right-back has spoken out on the changes over the past year and the impact of the Dutch boss.
He told ManUtd.com: “It’s been good, especially for myself. I’ve learned a lot under him. And there’s more to come, more improvement to be done. So, yeah, I’m happy. He’s helped the team. You can see the team’s transition has changed.
“On the pitch, just where to be at certain times, be more aggressive going forward, and just how I can help the team. Since I’ve been under him, the manager has taught me a lot and you just want to improve more and keep learning more, especially from someone like him. So I’ve enjoyed that.”
“I was never taught it, to be honest, it’s just a natural thing,” he said on his esteemed tackling abilities. “I realised that I was alright at tackling, like, age 18. And then it caught a few eyes so I started to focus more on it. And that’s how I’ve got here.”
“From the praise and the coaches, I gain confidence. So when the opportunity comes, I’m ready, you know. I’m not half-hearted when it comes to going into a challenge.”

Bissaka you’ve improved your game going forward and that’s good for United and yourself as a prayer, let’s hope every one can improve to make Manchester united better
