Liverpool’s Wataru Endo pursuit could clear path for Manchester United to sign Fiorentina star – opinion

Manchester United have been linked with Sofyan Amrabat throughout the summer but reports have emerged that Liverpool are ready to swoop for the Fiorentina midfielder.

According to Sky Italy, Liverpool have entered the race for Amrabat.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano suggests no formal bid has been made yet, but the same applies to United.

Amrabat must feel like he has been left on the long finger all summer.

Liverpool are aware that other Premier League clubs are hijacking their deals for targets, so they appear to be targeting a list of midfield options.

The Liverpool Echo claim the Scousers have made a shock move for Stuttgart captain Wataru Endo, who has been granted permission to the talk with Liverpool.

Liverpool moving for the 30-year-old Japan international could clear the path for United to sign Amrabat.

That said, I am feeling less optimistic about United selling players and that could scupper plans for us to sign Amrabat.

Hopefully not because Erik ten Hag’s squad could do with a signing like that. Another midfielder linked with a move to Old Trafford is Everton’s Amadou Onana.
