Monday Night Football’s pundits have all predicted Manchester United to finish in the top four, but none expect them to lift the title.
Karen Carney, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher were on coverage last night for the Red Devils’ return to action against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
United oversaw a narrow 1-0 victory against their relentless opposition, with the Midlands outfit undoubtedly the better performers on the night.
Regardless of the display though, Erik ten Hag’s men secured exactly what they set out for with three points, and that’s all he can ask for to kick off the campaign.
Pundits make United predictions
With it being the start of the season, the pundits voiced their expectations for the term ahead. Carney and Carragher believe that Manchester City will win the league for the fourth successive campaign, which would make them the first team in history to do so, while Neville reckons Arsenal will beat them to it and go one further than their second-placed finish in May.
Carney has put United in fourth place, whereas Carragher and Neville anticipate the Manchester outfit to see out the same finish in Ten Hag’s second term – third place.
Andre Onana had the panel intrigued after his debut; Carney made the Cameroonian her ‘impact signing’ and Neville labelled him as ‘one to watch’.
