West Ham register interest in Manchester United forward with club willing to sell

Manchester United will listen to offers for Anthony Martial this summer, with West Ham United interested in a potential deal.

talkSPORT has reported the Irons’ interest in the Frenchman, while The Mirror has confirmed that United will sanction his exit if the right bid arrives.

Martial, 27, is on the back of yet another injury-plagued campaign and it was one that significantly impacted United’s chances of competing on all fronts.

He made just 11 Premier League starts and started only six matches in total across the remaining three competitions. The hamstring injury that he sustained on the final day of the 2022/2023 campaign also kept him out of the FA Cup final and the club’s entire pre-season tour, meaning he has no minutes in the tank ahead of the forthcoming term.

Time for Tony to leave?

Rasmus Hojlund’s arrival would also see Martial’s game time limited further, though he won’t feature for United until early September.

A move for Martial would best suit all parties at this stage and it may be the last time that United can recuperate a fee for him, especially if his statistics from last season are anything to go by.

Meanwhile, West Ham have also been in active pursuit of Reds duo Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire – the latter of which they have had a bid accepted for. However, the deal could collapse due to a lack of agreement on personal terms.
