Scott McTominay looks set to stay at Manchester United this summer despite strong interest from West Ham United.
The midfielder’s future at Old Trafford had been uncertain over the past weeks, with reports suggesting McTominay may seek more game time away from his boyhood club.
Last season, the Scotland international made just 16 starts for the club across all competitions, 10 of which came in the Premier League – a significant reduction to his 28 league starts in the 2021/2022 campaign.
United have rebuffed approaches from Irons
While he may not be viewed as a consistent starter by Erik ten Hag, he is seen as a reliable and senior figure in the squad, which is why United are reluctant to sanction his exit – as per Manchester Evening News.
They rejected a £30 million bid from the Irons this week and reiterated that their valuation falls between £40-45m – a price tag that the London club have been unwilling to meet.
David Moyes has since acquired a midfielder in the form of James Ward-Prowse from Southampton, which may now rule out a further offer for McTominay.
Good.
