Donny van de Beek is reportedly a subject of interest for his former club, Ajax.

That’s according to The Sun, which states that the Eredivisie side are more likely to sanction a loan move for the midfielder rather than a transfer.

This is due to the substandard campaign that they oversaw last season, in which they ultimately failed to qualify for the Champions League. Now, Ajax must spend wisely on a limited budget to bolster their squad for the new term.

Meanwhile, Van de Beek will know that game time is set to be extremely limited in the United setup and even more so since the arrival of Mason Mount.

He has struggled to ever replicate the form he displayed in Amsterdam and since making the £35 million switch to England, has found himself more frequently warming the bench than on the pitch.

The 26-year-old had also been linked with La Liga outfit Real Sociedad, but he may opt to return to Ajax in a bid to revive his career surrounded by his home comforts.
