Juventus threaten to hijack deal for Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat this summer.

The £30 million-rated Morocco international could come in as a deputy to Casemiro, but he also possesses the ability to play alongside the Brazilian in games United are expecting the defence to come under more pressure.

It is believed that United are unable to work on a deal for Amrabat until they sell some of the players no longer required by Erik ten Hag. The same applies in their hunt for a new centre-back, with Harry Maguire on the verge of joining West Ham.

However, a fresh report suggests United may be left disappointed in their chase for Amrabat as Italian giants Juventus could swoop to hijack the deal.

SportsMediaset (H/t Daily Mail) claims Juventus have their eye on Amrabat as Denis Zakaria’s replacement.

Zakaria, who was briefly linked with a move to United in the past, has signed for Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco in a deal worth £17.25m.

I hope United can hurry up and sell more players over the coming days to lessen the risk of missing out on Amrabat.

The Moroccan’s current deal expires next summer, and the 26-year-old could be bought in a cut-price deal before transfer deadline day. That said, Amrabat can leave Fiorentina for free in 12 months.
