It sounds like West Ham are still deep in negotiations with Manchester United over the potential transfer of Scott McTominay.
We already know that the Hammers are in the middle of conducting business with United, with a £30 million deal agreed in principle to take Harry Maguire to London.
This evening a new update from West Ham fansite Claret and Hugh suggests the Irons remain in talks with the Reds over the Scotland midfielder as well as Maguire.
It has been understood for some time that Erik ten Hag would like to keep McTominay in his squad.
However, United wouldn’t think twice if their valuation of the player was met.
Claret and Hugh quote a source as saying: “We’ll sign Ward-Prowse or the Scottish midfielder from Man Utd in the next 72 hours, but sadly not Friday in time to get either registered for the game at Bournemouth.”
Although I would agree with the club selling McTominay for £35m or more, I would be sad to see him leave the club. He would make for a terrific signing for West Ham, though, and it may serve him well to be playing regularly in the Premier League again. That is not going to happen at United next season, especially if Ten Hag adds another midfielder to his squad before transfer deadline day.
Let us know in the comments section if you think United should sell McTominay this summer.
